Silicone Hose Installation tips

Fitting: The internal diameter of silicone hose should be equal to or slightly smaller than the pipe that you are fitting it to. Hoses must never be distorted when fitted, if the hose is stretched into position it is more likely to fail. Hoses when clamped in place should be clamped just behind the formed bead with at least 10mm of hose beyond the clip.

Cleaning: We recommend good old hot soapy water, oil based solutions and other silicone based products will discolor the hose and should not be used.

Cutting: Ensure you use a new snap off blade for cutting our silicone hoses, to ensure a straight cut tighten a jubilee clip around the hose without deforming the hose and use the edge of the clip as a guide for the knife blade.

Clamping: It is important that a good quality clamp is used to ensure that the hose is securely attached to the pipe work.
